    • Château Petit-Village is located on the highest part of the magnificent Pomerol plateau, on deep gravel and clay soils in the heart of the appellation. The vineyard in a single plot is shaped like a triangle and well situated to produce high quality wines typical of this exceptional terroir. Our Grand Vin Château Petit-Village expresses the successful blend of the Merlot, Cabernet Franc and Cabernet Sauvignon grape varieties.

    • Blend

      77 % Merlot
      14 % Cabernet Franc
      9 % Cabernet-Sauvignon

    • Ageing

      for 15 months

    • Vintage conditions

The harvest at Château Petit-Village started on 23rd September and ended on 12th October. It took a total of seven days to harvest our 8.6 hectares of land in production. In 2016 we had a relatively damp, cool climate until the end of June, when the weather became dry and sunny. Deep roots and cool clay subsoil meant that our vineyards withstood the dry period very well, with the exception of a few young plants which suffered a bit. The long-awaited rain arrived on 14th and 15th September with 28 millimetres, reviving the final phase of ripening. A beautiful Indian summer allowed us to take our time and harvest every single plot at exactly the right level of ripeness. We began harvesting some of the Merlot vines on 23rd September, followed by the old Merlot plots on 28th and 29th September, as well as on 5th and 6th October. Finally, the Cabernet Franc and Cabernet-Sauvignon were harvested on 11th and 12th October.

    • Tasting note

"Château Petit-Village 2016 has a beautiful dark purple colour. The intense nose presents the notes of blackberry and violet that are characteristic of the Pomerol appellation. The palate is round and powerful, presenting great tannic structure. The finish is long and ends with a spicy note."
